Panchronia

App privacy policy

Last updated 17 October 2026

This is the privacy policy of the Panchronia mobile app for iOS and Android. The app is free, with no accounts, ads or purchases; it is the same globe as on panchronia.com, wrapped for the phone. The developer and data controller is the project author, e-mail artemsharubin27@gmail.com.

What the app collects

Usage statistics

To learn what people use and what to improve, the app sends anonymised events to our server (Cloudflare): which cards, tours, views and searches are opened, which buttons are pressed, the language, the platform (iOS or Android), device type and OS version, loading time and script errors. The server derives the country from the IP address. To tell users apart within a single day, the server hashes the IP address, browser and date with a secret salt; the IP address itself is not stored, the hash changes the next day, and days cannot be linked. No advertising identifiers (IDFA, GAID), cookies or other tags are used.

Raw events are kept for at most 120 days and then deleted; only daily totals without user data remain. This data is not linked to you and is not used for advertising or for tracking across other apps or websites.

Data the app downloads

Events, people, borders and maps are bundled with the app and work offline. The background layer of peoples and cultures is downloaded from our site, and the pictures in cards from Wikimedia Foundation servers. Like any web request, these downloads reveal your IP address to the server; we do not store it, and Wikimedia’s rules are on their site.

Settings

Language, view, era notation, chosen lanes and game progress are stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.

External links

Links to Wikipedia, sources and site pages open in the system’s in-app browser. Those sites have their own rules.

What the app does not do

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because the events are anonymised, yours cannot be singled out, so there is nothing to delete. Questions about data: artemsharubin27@gmail.com.

Changes

A new version is published on this page and applies from its publication date. The website is described separately: sources, licences and personal data.
