The 'Scourge of God' dies at his own wedding feast

The Hunnic king who terrorised both Roman empires died in 453 after a feast celebrating his marriage to the young Ildico. According to Priscus he suffered a severe haemorrhage, possibly a nosebleed, and choked to death in a drunken stupor.
