Duke Huan and Guan Zhong raise up Qi
The first of the Five Hegemons rules in the weak king's name

Duke Huan took the throne of Qi in 685 BC and made his adviser Guan Zhong, who had once tried to kill him. Their reforms made Qi the strongest of the states, and Huan became the first of the Five Hegemons, champion of the Zhou king and of the league of states against raiders.
