Homo luzonensis
Another small human species marooned on an island

Teeth and finger bones from Callao Cave on Luzon were first taken for Homo sapiens, but in 2019 they were named a new species mixing traits of ours with those of australopithecines, down to curved finger bones suited to climbing. A 2023 study dated them to about 134,000 years ago, and their ancestors must somehow have crossed the sea.
