Our species already lives in Africa, with faces like ours

The earliest Homo sapiens

Skulls from the Moroccan cave of Jebel Irhoud are dated to about 300,000–315,000 years ago. Their faces are almost modern, while the braincase is still elongated. The find pushed the origin of our species back by 100,000 years and suggested it took shape across Africa rather than in one spot.
