A forager village that cancelled a baseball stadium
The remains of a huge Jōmon settlement turned up in Aomori in 1992 while ground was being cleared for a baseball stadium, and the stadium was never built. Around 3900–2200 BC hundreds of people lived here, tended chestnut trees and raised a structure on six chestnut pillars about a metre thick.
