Pechenegs besiege Kiev
While Sviatoslav fights on the Danube, Olga is besieged

In 968, while Prince Sviatoslav was campaigning in Bulgaria, the Pechenegs besieged Kiev, where Princess Olga and his sons remained. According to the chronicle, the commander Pretich passed off his troops as Sviatoslav's vanguard and the nomads drew back; the returning prince drove them into the steppe.
