Tower of Jericho
A stone tower five thousand years older than the pyramids
Around 8000 BC the people of Jericho built an 8.5-metre stone tower with an internal staircase of 22 steps — one of the oldest monumental structures in the world. It was raised by people who did not yet make pottery, more than five thousand years before the pyramids of Egypt.
