In 1982 a sponge diver sketched 'metal biscuits with ears' he had seen on the seabed off Cape Uluburun: copper ingots. The ship, wrecked in the late 14th century BC, carried ten tonnes of copper in 354 ingots and a gold scarab bearing Nefertiti's name.
