• La Jamais Contente breaks 100 km/h1899 · Achères, near Paris. On 29 April 1899 Belgian Camille Jenatzy drove his torpedo-shaped electric car to 105.88 km/h, the first time any car had passed 100 km/h. He named it La Jamais Contente, 'The Never Satisfied'.
