The event

• Founding of the Delhi Sultanate1206 · Delhi. After the death of Muhammad of Ghor, his general Qutb ud-Din Aibak became independent ruler of the conquered lands of northern India. The Delhi Sultanate dominated the north for over three centuries; the Qutb Minar became its emblem.
