Battle of the Eclipse
The sun goes dark and Lydians and Medes make peace
During a battle between Lydians and Medes near the Halys River on 28 May 585 BC, a total solar eclipse occurred, reportedly predicted by Thales of Miletus. Taking it as an omen, the two sides made peace.
