Rome destroys Corinth
The richest city in Greece falls in the same year as Carthage

In 146 BC Rome crushed the Achaean League, and on the orders of the consul Mummius Corinth was burned: the men were killed, the women and children sold into slavery. Carthage fell the same year, and Greece passed for good under Roman rule.
