Caligula's horse
A marble stable, an ivory manger and 18 servants

According to Suetonius, Caligula's favourite horse Incitatus had a marble stable and an ivory manger and 'invited' guests to dinner, and the emperor planned to make him consul. Ancient sources are clear that the horse never actually became consul.
