Nebuchadnezzar II builds the Ishtar Gate
Blue glazed bricks with bulls and dragons at Babylon's gate

Around 575 BC King Nebuchadnezzar II rebuilt the northern entrance to Babylon, the gate of the goddess Ishtar. It was faced with blue glazed bricks bearing reliefs of bulls and mušḫuššu dragons; a reconstruction made from the excavated bricks stands in the Pergamon Museum in Berlin.
