Roman–Bosporan War
Rome and the Aorsi Sarmatians unseat a Bosporan king
The Bosporan king Mithridates VIII fell out with Rome, and in 45 Claudius put his brother Cotys I on the throne. Mithridates tried to return with the Siraces Sarmatians, but a Roman force with its Aorsi allies stormed the Siraces stronghold of Uspe, and in 49 he surrendered and was taken to Rome.
