Kingdom of Germany
The Kingdom of Germany was East Francia after the eastern Carolingian line died out in 911 and the nobles elected Conrad I king; from 919 it was ruled by the Saxon Ottonians. Henry I and Otto I strengthened the realm and stopped the Magyars, and in 962 Otto I was crowned emperor in Rome.
