Battle of Molodi
A year after Moscow burned, the Crimean horde is crushed

In 1571 the Crimean khan Devlet Giray burned Moscow, and in the summer of 1572 he returned with a huge army, hoping to subdue the Russian state. At the village of Molodi south of Moscow, Prince Mikhail Vorotynsky's regiments destroyed the horde in several days of fighting; no raid on that scale was ever repeated.
