The Incas conquer Chimor
The Incas' main rival on the Peruvian coast falls

Around 1470 Inca armies under Tupac Inca Yupanqui conquered the kingdom of Chimor and its capital Chan Chan, the largest state on the Peruvian coast. The last ruler, Minchancaman, was taken to Cusco, along with Chimor's skilled goldsmiths. The Incas became masters of almost all of Peru.
