Laguna Copperplate Inscription
The Philippines' oldest document is a debt waiver

The text is dated Saka year 822 — AD 900. It releases the children of one Namwaran from a debt of 1 kati and 8 suwarnas of gold (about 865 grams). A labourer found the plate by chance in 1987; it is the earliest dated document known from the Philippines.
