Sanctuary of Pachacamac
The great oracle of the Andean coast speaks for 1300 years

Around 200 a sanctuary of the creator god Pachacamac arose on the coast south of present-day Lima. Pilgrims came to its oracle for more than a thousand years, under the Wari and the Inca, until Hernando Pizarro plundered the temple for gold in 1533.
