The Uyghur Khaganate
The Uyghurs topple the Turks and make Manichaeism a state faith
In 744 the Uyghurs destroyed the Second Turkic Khaganate and founded their own state with its capital at Ordu-Baliq. They helped the Tang crush the An Lushan rebellion, and in 762 their khagan adopted Manichaeism, a rare case of it becoming a state religion. In 840 the khaganate fell to the Yenisei Kyrgyz.
