Timur builds the White Palace
'If you doubt our power, look at our buildings'

In his home town of Kesh (Shahrisabz), Timur, known in Uzbekistan as Amir Temur, spent 24 years building the Ak-Saray palace with a portal seen from afar. The Spanish envoy Clavijo found craftsmen still at work in 1404; only the two great towers of the portal survive.
