Fall of Acre
The Mamluks take the crusaders' last stronghold
After a six-week siege the army of the Mamluk sultan al-Ashraf Khalil stormed Acre, capital of the Kingdom of Jerusalem. The crusaders soon abandoned Tyre, Sidon and Beirut, ending two centuries of crusader states in the East.
