Lady Six Sky arrives at Naranjo
A Maya queen who portrayed herself as a warrior king
The daughter of the ruler of Dos Pilas came to Naranjo in 682 to found a new dynasty and effectively ruled the city for almost 60 years. Her stelae show her trampling a captive — the pose of a warrior king, unusual for a woman in Maya art.
