Peru's irrigators raise adobe pyramids and lifelike pottery
On Peru's north coast the Moche culture arose, with irrigated farming and monumental adobe pyramids such as the Huaca del Sol and Huaca de la Luna. Moche artisans were famed for realistic portrait ceramics and fine metalwork.
