The Rebellion of the Seven States
Regional kings rise against the Han and lose within three months

In 154 BC seven semi-independent kings led by Liu Pi, ruler of the rich principality of Wu, rose against Emperor Jing, who on Chao Cuo's advice had been cutting down their lands. The revolt was crushed within three months, and from then on the power of the principalities steadily gave way to the court.
