Treaty of Stolbovo
Russia is cut off from the Baltic for a century
The Swedes, who had seized Novgorod during the Time of Troubles, returned it under a peace signed in February 1617 in the village of Stolbovo. In exchange Russia ceded Ivangorod, Yam, Koporye and Oreshek and lost its access to the Baltic until Peter I's Great Northern War.
