Battle of White Mountain
An hour's fighting decides Bohemia's fate for three centuries

On 8 November 1620, outside Prague, the army of Emperor Ferdinand II and the Catholic League defeated the rebel Bohemian Estates. The 'Winter King' Frederick of the Palatinate fled, 27 leaders of the revolt were executed in the Old Town Square, and Bohemia became a hereditary Habsburg land for three centuries.
