Hussite Wars
Czech rebels beat off five crusades
After Jan Hus's execution his followers rose in revolt; in 1419 a Prague crowd threw the town councillors from the town hall windows. Jan Žižka's army with its war wagons defeated five crusades, and the wars ended in 1434 with the defeat of the radical Taborites at Lipany.
