Capture of Azov
For a second attempt Peter builds a fleet in one winter

Peter I's first campaign against the Ottoman fortress of Azov in 1695 failed: without a fleet it could not be cut off from the sea. Over the winter galleys and ships were built at Voronezh, and in July 1696 Azov, besieged by land and sea, surrendered — the first victory of the future Russian navy.
