Peasants' Revolt
English peasants take London and demand an end to serfdom

A poll tax roused the peasants of Kent and Essex; led by Wat Tyler and the priest John Ball, they entered London and executed the Archbishop of Canterbury. The 14-year-old Richard II promised to abolish serfdom, but revoked his promises after Tyler was killed.
