Ned Kelly's plough armour
Australian outlaws fight in armour made of ploughs

In 1880 bushranger Ned Kelly's gang faced the police at Glenrowan in homemade bulletproof armour beaten from plough mouldboards; the police had dismissed a tip-off about it as preposterous. Kelly alone of the gang survived the 12-hour siege and was hanged.
