Winter War
The Red Army breaks the Mannerheim Line; Finland cedes Vyborg

On 30 November 1939, after Finland refused to move its border away from Leningrad, the Red Army attacked; in December the USSR was expelled from the League of Nations. Under the Moscow Peace of 12 March 1940 Finland kept its independence but ceded about a tenth of its land, including Vyborg.
