Rwandan genocide
About a hundred days of mass killing, mostly of Tutsi

Over about a hundred days from April to July 1994, hundreds of thousands of people, mostly Tutsi as well as moderate Hutu, were killed in Rwanda. The world's failure to stop the killings became a grave lesson for the United Nations.
