Yalta Conference
Stalin, Roosevelt and Churchill shape the post-war world
On 4–11 February 1945, at the Livadia Palace near Yalta, the leaders of the USSR, the United States and Britain agreed on the defeat and occupation of Germany, Poland's borders, the creation of the UN and Soviet entry into the war against Japan. Yalta's decisions set the division of Europe into spheres of influence for the Cold War.
