Magnitka and Dneproges: the USSR builds industry at speed
In 1928–1932 the USSR pursued forced industrialisation under its first five-year plan. The Magnitogorsk steelworks, the Dnieper hydroelectric station, the Stalingrad tractor plant and hundreds of other plants were built.
