The Great Stork Derby
A prankster lawyer leaves his fortune to the most prolific mother
Toronto lawyer and practical joker Charles Millar died in 1926, leaving his estate to the Toronto woman who bore the most children in the next ten years. The race ran until 1936; a judge split the prize among four mothers with nine children each, who got $110,000 apiece.
